California's SB 326, also known as CA Civil Code 5551, mandates the examination of residential properties governed by homeowners' associations (HOAs) in the form of condominiums or multi-family housing. The initial inspection must be carried out by January 1, 2025, at the latest.

Additionally, under California's SB 721 legislation, regular inspections are mandatory for multifamily apartment complexes containing three or more units. Property owners are obligated to conduct the initial inspection by January 1, 2025.
